ARIZONA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY
RELEASES 2010 LEGISLATIVE ENDORSEMENTS

June 22, 2010

PHOENIX - The Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry today released its primary and general election endorsements for the State House of Representatives and State Senate. The Chamber is excited to endorse 17 Senate and 34 House candidates who share the Chamber's pro-business, free-market agenda.

The Chamber maintains a rigorous process for supporting individuals for elected office. Incumbent legislative candidates were evaluated based on their voting record as it relates to the Chamber policy agenda and their commitment to growing and attracting business in Arizona, while challenger candidates were asked to complete a questionnaire about their policy positions before participating in a candidate interview with members of the Chamber Public Affairs Committee.

The Public Affairs Committee made recommendations for candidates to the board of directors, which ultimately voted on the final endorsements. The Chamber requires that each candidate receive the support of 60 percent of the board to receive an endorsement.

"We believe we have endorsed an outstanding slate of candidates," Chamber Vice-President of Government Relations Allison Bell said.  "Whether they're a Republican or a Democrat, the candidates we've endorsed all share a belief in free markets and a commitment to growing Arizona's economy by creating a tax and regulatory environment that attracts good jobs to the state."

 JUDGE UNEQUIVOCALLY DISMISSES CHALLENGES AGAINST
JOHN ADAM KOWALSKI BY RIVAL REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE

Rival Candidate Proves to be Poor Choice for District 6

PHOENIX – (June 18, 2010) Challenges against John Adam Kowalski, Candidate for State House District 6, were unequivocally dismissed by the Hon. Hugh E. Hegyi of the Maricopa County Superior Court yesterday. The challenges were filed by rival Republican candidate David E. Fitzgerald. The judge relied on a straightforward reading of the law for his ruling and quickly dismissed the case.

“Either Mr. Fitzgerald is incapable of understanding a simple law written in plain English which calls into question his ability to make laws as a legislator, or he is wasting taxpayer dollars by filing a frivolous and malicious lawsuit to attack me in court for his own political gain.” said John Adam Kowalski. “The people of District 6 deserve more professional and competent representation and I would be honored to be elected to that role.”

Kowalski's qualifications include extensive business, military and community service experience and he is a true champion for free enterprise and inspires entrepreneurs across Arizona.

“As a leader in the business community, I have a vision and a plan to work with public and private interests to put Arizona back on track for economic growth and job creation,” said Kowalski.
